How do I add line items?

In the Items section, click "+ Add Row" to add a new line. Each row has a description, an optional Qty field, and a Rate. If Qty is filled in, the total for that line is Qty × Rate. If Qty is left empty, the Rate is used as the line total directly — useful for fixed-price services.

How many line items can I add?

Up to 50 items per invoice. The "+ Add Row" button disables automatically when the limit is reached.

Can I add a discount?

Yes. Click "+ Add Discount" in the totals area and enter a fixed amount. The discount is subtracted from the subtotal before tax is applied. The discount row appears in red in both the UI and the PDF.

How does tax work?

Click "+ Add Tax" to enable it. You can choose between a percentage (%) or a fixed amount. For percentage tax, you can also toggle "Tax included in price" — when enabled, the tax is treated as already baked into your item prices and is extracted from the subtotal rather than added on top.

Can I change the currency?

Yes. In the Invoice Details section choose from USD, EUR, GBP, RUB, or JPY. You can also select "Custom" and enter any symbol you need — useful for invoicing in local or regional currencies not in the default list.

Can I upload my company logo?

Yes. In the "From" section click the upload zone and select a PNG, JPG, or GIF file (max 300 KB). Your logo will appear in the top-left corner of the generated PDF.

Fill in your details and click the "Generate PDF" button at the bottom of the form. The PDF is generated instantly in your browser and saved to your device as invoice-{number}.pdf.

What does the PDF look like?

The PDF uses a clean, professional grey-themed design with your logo (if uploaded), contractor and client details side by side, a formatted items table, and a totals summary at the bottom. If any items have a Qty value the table shows four columns; otherwise it collapses to three.

Every time you generate a PDF, PDF Invoices saves a record of that invoice (number, client name, date, and total) in your browser's localStorage. You can view, search, and manage past invoices from the History page. Nothing is stored on any server.

Yes. Open the History page, find the invoice, and click "Load" to restore all its details back into the form. Make your changes and generate a new PDF.
